Chris Christie, New Jersey’s outspoken Governor has signed online gambling into law in New Jersey today. The bill makes it legal for all forms of online gambling to be conducted online in New Jersey and even has provisions to allow residents of other states to gamble online as long as there is no law in their state making online gambling illegal.

This marks a major step forward for the complete legalization of online gambling.  New Jersey joins Delaware and Nevada in legalizing online gambling, but the broad scope of this bill makes New Jersey the most significant.  It may take up to a year for the law to be enacted (it has to go through a few hoops yet), but legal online gambling is coming soon.
